Running The Game

All our pc games can be played using the keyboard or a gaming pad. If using a gaming pad, the pad must be connected before running the game. You will asked to select your control method and a display resolution must be selected when prompted. Analogue gaming pads are also supported to give you full freedom of movement.

Under the advance setting button you will be able to select different modes that will improve the quality of graphics. If you have a slow machine it is recommended to leave these features off. However if you machine is running the game up to speed and you wish to improve the graphic you can choose from the following options.

Advance Settings
Using these setting may have unexpected results when used on certain PC configurations. If any errors occur, close the game and launch it again with the default settings.

Enable dynamic content delivery*
Enabling this setting will allow the game to stream updated content direct from our servers. Tracks and arenas will change and be updated over time just as they would do in the real world. To use this setting fully a internet connection will be required. If a fire wall is installed the game might ask for permission to connect to the internet. You must allow the connection for the game to download the latest content from our servers.

Improved Texture Filtering. (Anisotrpoic filtering)
Anisotropic Filtering (abbreviated AF) is a method of enhancing the image quality of textures on surfaces that are far away and at high angles with respect to the camera so the projection of the texture (not the polygon or other primitive it is rendered on) appears like a trapezoid instead of a square. Like bilinear and trilinear filtering it eliminates aliasing effects, but introduces less blur at extreme angles and thus preserves more detail. Read more at wikipedia.org

Enhanced Edge Smoothing. (Anti-alising)
As you have probably surmised, anti-aliasing (or sometimes, antialiasing) refers to methods of eliminating (or most often, reducing) these unwanted artefacts. Anti-Aliasing in the context of images refers to the reduction of the jagged borders between colours. Read more at wikipedia.org

Advanced Lighting Techinques*
This is not recommended unless you have a very powerful computer and graphics card.

Realtime Reflections*
This is not recommended unless you have a very powerful computer and graphics card.

*these options are not available on all games.

Display Settings

Each monitor supports different screen resolutions and different refresh rates. The game picks a default mode for the monitor. If this doesn’t work, or you want to change this there is an option to select the display mode when the game is loaded. Below shows the menu with 7 different available modes.

You can select any one of these or if no other modes are visible, tick the ‘display all modes’ box to get other possible resolutions.

The screen resolution might still not work, because the refresh rate set by your video card might not be supported by your monitor/screen. You will then get a message similar to ‘refresh out of range’. The settings for your screen refresh rate can be set in the ‘advanced’ options, from the ‘settings’ menu of your Display Properties’ dialogue box.

To change the display setting in Microsoft Windows
Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.

To view your display setting in Windows, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Display.
3. Click the settings tab at the top of the window.
4. Use the down down boxes to change you display settings.
5. Click OK two times.

Configure your display controller refresh rates
To configure your diplay controller frame rate, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2. Double-click Display.
3. Click the settings tab at the top of the window.
4. Double-click the advance button, then select the monitor tab.
5. Use the down down boxes to change you refresh rate settings.
6. Click OK two times.

The game can also be played in a window.

Saving and Loading the Game

In total you can store up to 64 saves. These are presented in groups of 8 located in 8 separate save folders. Upon booting the game you will be given the option of loading a previously saved game or enabling autosave for a new save file. To load a previously saved game, select the save folder containing the save file you wish to load. Then select the save file to load. If you want to start a new game, enter a save folder containing unused save files and select one of those files.

Once you have selected a new save file or loaded a previously saved game, the autosave feature will be active. Your progress will then be saved automatically.

If you choose not to load or create a new saved game at time of boot, you can do so at any time from the 'Save\Load' menu found on the 'Main Menu' screen. Enter the 'Save\Load' menu, then select whether you want to save your current game or load a previously saved game. From here, the process is the same as if you were loading or saving from boot-up.

Trouble Shooting

My gaming pad doesn't work?
When playing with a gaming pad, there is no standard control setup. This is dependant upon the type of controller that you are using and the controller setup as defined by the Windows® 'Game Controller' settings. You should use a controller with at least 6 action buttons, of which each will map to a single keyboard control. see the Gaming Pad Controls section of this document.

If you cannot select your game controller or the game controller does not work correctly, contact the game controller manufacturer for more information.

The keyboard does not work in-game?
If you have a game pad plugged in this will over-ride you keyboard, each button will map itself to a keybaord control. To use you keybaord only fully exit the game and unplug all game controllers. Then restart the game.
If you are running the game on a notebook computer them some of the keys (eg the 'end' key) may need you to press a function [FN] key simultaneously to use that specific key.

4 player games modes are not recommended on notebooks or mini-keyboards.

The game runs slowly?
First of all check that no other applications are running to free up memory space, if the game still runs slow make sure any anti-virus programs or firewalls are disabled.

You may be able to increase the game speed by reducing the screen resolution on the device selection screen when you first run the game. Alternatively you can disable any advanced settings by deselecting them in the devices selection 'Advance Settings' button. Simply un-tick all of the extra settings.

Futher information about changing your display settings can be found in the Display Settings section of this document.

The game runs in window mode but not full screen?
What is probably happening here is that you are selecting a mode that your graphic card supports but not your monitor. Decrease the full screen mode to a lower resolution then try running the game.

Futher information about changing your display settings can be found in the Display Settings section of this document.

When running the game in full screen some of the display is off centre?
When windows adjust the screen resolution you may have to re-align your monitor using the buttons on the front or back of you monitor to align the screen central.

Futher information about changing your display settings can be found in the Display Settings section of this document.

The game does not run at all?
If you can see the device selection window when launching the game then un-tick all of the options under the advance setting button and try reducing the screen resolution before pressing the 'play game' button.

Futher information about changing your display settings can be found in the Display Settings section of this document.

If the game does not start with the device selection window try closing all running programs and windows and re-launching the game from the start menu. If this fails try uninstalling the game and then reinstalling.

If you are receiving administrator rights/ user rights messages then your windows users account has been restricted or has limited user’s access to basic installation functions. The game must been run/installed by a user with Administrator privileges.

The game does not install correctly?
If the game is not installing correctly then try copying the setup.exe file from the CD onto you desktop. Then run the file from your desktop. If the game then installs itself correctly you should be then able to delete the setup.exe from your desktop.

If you are receiving administrator rights/ user rights messages then your windows users account has been restricted or has limited user’s access to basic installation functions. The game must been run/installed by a user with Administrator privileges.
